adidas Group: turnover increases by 16% up to €16.9bn, net profit up 12% to €720m in 2015

The adidas Group has announced a 16% increase in turnover, up to €16.9bn for 2015 (compared to €14.5bn in 2014) and a 12% increase in net profit up to €720m (€642m in 2014), on 11/02/2016. The German group is expecting "double-digit" growth in sales and operating profit for 2016.

This strong rise is the result of a double-digit growth in sales in the markets of Western Europe, China, Latin America and the MEAA region (Middle East, Africa, Asia), said the company. adidas remains the third largest sports equipment brand, behind Nike and Under Armour, in the North American market. adidas sales increased by 12% in 2015, whilst Reebok sales increased by 6%. The group announced that it increased its "marketing investment" by 20% in 2015.
