2024 Olympics: the four candidate cities present the first part of their applications on 17/02/2016

Paris (France), Los Angeles (United States), Rome (Italy) and Budapest (Hungary) have sent USB sticks to the IOC containing the first part of their applications to host the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024, on 17/02/2016.

"Paris 2024" used this opportunity presented the outline of its bid to the general public at an event held at the Philharmonie de Paris, at 15:00 in the presence of 1,500 guests. Rome also announced details of its candidacy, during a ceremony at the Palais des Congrès.

Los Angeles did not hold a pubic event and instead published the file on its website after having sent it to the IOC, before organising a telephone press conference involving the main leaders of the bid, while Budapest chose not to release the details of its bid.

The four bid committees will present the second part of their applications in October 2016, after having received feedback from the IOC, whose members will visit the four candidate cities in spring 2017. The election of the host city will take place in Lima (Peru) on 13/09/2017.
