"The situation is critical. Given the current crisis, it is the survival of FIFA itself which is at stake!" said Jérôme Champagne, candidate for the presidency of FIFA, in a letter to the 209 presidents of the national federations, on 20/02/2016, six days before the election scheduled in Zurich (SUI) on Friday 26/02/2016.

In addition to the Frenchman Jérôme Champagne, four other candidates are vying to replace Joseph Blatter, who was suspended from any activity in football on 08/10/2015: Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein (Jordan), Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa (Bahrain), Gianni Infantino (Switzerland) and Tokyo Sexwale (South Africa).

Jérôme Champagne revealed his regret that all the other candidates refused to participate in a televised public debate that he had proposed. "Faced with such a denial of democracy, such a denial of the often invoked 'transparency', I have no choice but to write this last letter so that you can make your choice in all knowledge, and be able to separate fact from fiction," wrote the Frenchman, in his eleventh letter to the heads of the federations, on…
