Premier League: Arsenal goals and matches are the most shared items on Twitter

The goal scored by Danny Welbeck for Arsenal FC (Premier League) against Leicester City FC (2-1, Matchday 26 on 10/02/2016), was the subject of more than 51,000 tweets in the moments following the goal.

It is the most shared goal on the social network Twitter for the 2015-16 Premier League season, ahead of those of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Özil, two other Arsenal players, who scored on 04/10/2015 against Manchester United FC (3-0, Matchday 8), which recorded over 45,000 and 40,000 tweets in moments following the goal, respectively.

Arsenal have also featured in three of the top five most tweeted about matches the Premier League season. The most tweeted match was against Manchester United on 04/10/2015 (3-0) with 1.73 million tweets, followed by the loss against Chelsea FC (2-0, Matchday 6 on 19/09/2015) with 1.5 million tweets, and finally the match against Leicester on 10/02/2016 (2-1) with more than 1.4 million tweets.
