FIFA: CAS to decide on the request to postpone the election no later than the morning of 25/02/2016

"The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has registered an appeal and request for urgent provisional measures filed by Prince Ali Al Hussein of Jordan against a decision taken by the FIFA Ad-hoc Electoral Committee dated 15/02/2016 in which it declined to incorporate the use of transparent voting booths for the upcoming FIFA presidential election," announced the CAS on 23/02/2016.

Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, one of five candidates for the presidency of FIFA, filed a motion to the CAS, on 22/02/2016, following the rejection by FIFA (dated 15/02/2016) of his request to install transparent booths to prevent presidents of federations from recording -- by photo or video -- evidence of their vote at the Extraordinary Congress in Zurich (SUI), on 26/02/2016. Prince Ali filed a new appeal to the CAS, on 23/02/2016, requesting the postponement of the election scheduled for 26/02/2016, following the refusal of FIFA to expedite his request.
