On the 06/06/2013, Olivier Sadran, president of Toulouse FC (10th in Ligue 1 in 2012/13) told the press conference at the presentation of the 2013/14 season that "we must stop attacking Monaco, the club will bring a lot to French football".

"Monaco have played in French leagues for 80 years and it never bothered anyone before (...) Monaco benefits from a special convention with France, but it dates back to Charles de Gaulle (1963) and it was not made for football," Sadran added.

AS Monaco is appealing the decision made by the LFP (Professional Football League) on the 21/03/2013 to require each French club to establish their base in metropolitan France by 01/06/2013, which would mean that Monaco would have to align with the French tax system.

Monaco has brought two cases forward to the council of state, an annulment and a summary judgement, "the purpose of which is to obtain the immediate suspension of the original decision". A hearing has been set for the 20/06/2013.
