FIFA: "UEFA is the flagship confederation and must support the reforms" (Issa Hayatou)

"UEFA, which, like it or not, is the flagship confederation, must support the reforms. Your position is crucial in seeing that the reforms of the governance of FIFA, which were set out at the Extraordinary FIFA Congress, are adopted," said Issa Hayatou, acting president of FIFA, before the 54 European federations who met at the Extraordinary UEFA Congress in Zurich (SUI), on 25/02/2016.

"I am convinced that during this week we will take the right decisions to restore our credibility, but also the confidence of all those involved in football and who love this sport," added Issa Hayatou reading a message he had already given at the meetings of the other five confederations (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL and OFC) in Zurich ahead of the FIFA Congress.
