Sport1 acquire German TV rights to French leagues and cup until 2014/15

On the 05/06/2013, German TV channel Sport1 announced that they have acquired the German broadcasting rights for Ligue 1, Ligue 2 and the Coupe de France from rights agency MP & Silva.

In addition to French competitions, Sport1 have also obtained the rights to the Italian Serie A, the Brazilian Série A, the Paulista Championship (regional Sao Paolo championship, Brazil) and the MLS (Major League Soccer, USA).

These competitions will be broadcast live on their pay-TV channel Sport1+. Highlights will be broadcast on their free channel Sport1 and on their digital platform Sport1.de.

Most of these rights were previously held by the Sportdigital.tv pay channel.
