FIFA election: two-thirds majority needed in first round, "50%+1" (104 votes) from second round

"For the election of the President, two-thirds of the votes of the Members present and eligible to vote are necessary in the first ballot. In the second and any other requisite ballot, a simple majority (more than 50%) of the valid votes cast is sufficient," states Article 27, Paragraph 3 of the FIFA Statutes, regarding the election of the president of the international federation.

With the federations of Indonesia and Kuwait suspended from voting, there are 207 possible federation votes at stake in the FIFA presidential election in Zurich (SUI) on 26/02/2016.

Therefore, a candidate must obtain -- assuming no blank and/or spoiled ballots -- 139 votes (two-thirds of the votes) to be elected in the first round. The number of votes needed in the second round depends on the number of votes cast (a simple majority of over 50% of the total vote, excluding blank and/or spoiled votes). Thus, again assuming all 207 votes are cast, 104 votes will be necessary to win election in the second round.
