Europa League: 1.3 million viewers watch FC Basel-AS Saint-Etienne in France (audience share: 5.3%)

The match between FC Basel - AS Saint-Etienne (2-1) in the Round of 32 of the 2015-16 Europa League (4-4 on aggregate, FC Basel advanced on away goals) drew an average of 1.275 million viewers in France, during the match broadcast on the free DTT channel W9, on Thursday 25/02/2016 (kick-off at 21:05 CET).

This figure represents an audience share of 5.3%, and ranked the channel owned by the Groupe M6 in fifth place in the French prime time TV market on 25/02/2016, behind TF1, M6, France 2 and France 3. It was however in first place for DTT channels broadcast at prime time in France.

The match between Olympique de Marseille - Athletic Club Bilbao (0-1), also in the Round of 32 of the 2015-16 Europa League, was watched by 1.559 million viewers in France (an 8.6% audience share), on Thursday 18/02/2016, achieving the best audience since the start of the 2015-16 season for the free DTT channel. The audience for W9 was therefore 284,000 spectators (-18.2%) less compared to the OM - Athletic Bilbao match, with an audience share that was 3.3% lower.
