Amadeo Salvo appointed president of Valencia CF

On the 04/06/2013, Amadeo Salvo, 46, was named president of Spanish club Valencia CF after a unanimous vote. He replaces Vicente Andreu who acted as interim president since Manuel Llorente's resignation on the 10/04/2013.

On the 05/06/2012, the club announced the appointment of a new manager, the Serbian, Miroslav Djukic, 47, who has signed a deal lasting until 2015. He succeeds Ernesto Valverde, who left Valencia on 01/06/2013.

Some of the new president's challenges will include reducing the club's large debt, estimated at €440m and completing construction of their new stadium, the Nou Mestalla, which halted in February 2009 due to a delay in payments to the construction company.

Valencia CF finished the 2012/13 season in fifth place in La Liga. They therefore qualified for the Europa League 2013/14.
