World Leagues Forum: Frédéric Thiriez (FRA) to head of the executive board of the new collective

"Frédéric Thiriez, the president of the LFP, will head the executive board along with with Enrique Bonilla (LigaMX, Mexico) and Christian Seifert (Bundesliga); this board will lead the World Leagues Forum," indicated the French LFP on 25/02/2016. This collective of leagues, created in January 2016, brought together 24 leagues on 25/02/2016, but has the ambition to quickly reach 50 members composed of leagues all around the world.

"Meeting in Zurich (SUI) on 25/02/2016 (the day before the FIFA Electoral Congress), the World Leagues Forum now represents 1,100 clubs and about 20,000 players," said the French Professional Football League.

"The World Leagues Forum will promote transparency and ethics in the governance of world football. It will also aim to develop exchanges between the national leagues to facilitate their development. To achieve these objectives, the association will work with the future president of FIFA, with the goal of being integrated directly in the decision-making process," added the LFP in its statement.
