"Over the last four years, UEFA generated on average more than €2bn in revenue every year. In 2014-15, with the start of the now centralised European Qualifiers, UEFA reached total revenue of €2.1bn. And this in one single financial year with no European Football Championship final round," stated UEFA in the presentation of its 2014-15 Financial Report, which was approved at the extraordinary Congress of the European confederation in Zurich (SUI) on 25/02/2016.

Net income for the 2014-15 financial year (-€27.9m while the budget estimated -€58m) is considered very satisfactory by UEFA, which emphasises that "global flows of income and expenditure must be considered over a financial period of four years in order to present a clear picture": the season during which the Euro torunament takes place presents a positive result, while the three seasons without the Euro are negative.

Example (Euro 2012 cycle)
• 2011-12: +€128.8m
• 2012-13: -€21.4m
• 2013-14: -€42.4m
• 2014-15: -€27.9m
• Net result of the 4-season cycle: +€37.1m
