"The female representative on the UEFA Executive Committee will now be elected by the UEFA Congress, as opposed to being appointed by the UEFA Executive Committee. It would be possible for the female member to come from a country already represented on the Executive Committee," states an amendment to the UEFA Statutes adopted at the 11th extraordinary UEFA Congress in Zurich (SUI), on 25/02/2016.

The new statutes went into force on 01/03/2016. The election of a woman onto the Executive Committee will take place for the first time at the 40th Ordinary UEFA Congress on 03/05/2016 in Budapest (HUN).

Karen Espelund (NOR) was reelected as the female member of the UEFA Executive Committee for the 2015-2019 period at the Executive Committee meeting in Prague (CZE) on 30/06/2015.

The extraordinary UEFA Congress in Zurich on 25/02/2016 also approved the 2014-15 Financial Report and the 2016-17 budget. It also approved the 2014-15 reports of the UEFA president, the Executive Committee and the administration.
