Brazil: Chevrolet extends its agreement with the CBF and replaces Sadia as back of the shirt sponsor

The US automaker Chevrolet has exended its partnership with the CBF, announced Brazilian media on 29/02/2016. During the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the brand will appear on the back of the Brazilian national team training kit. The contract is valued at $15m (€13.8m) by Brazilian media.

Chevrolet replaced the Brazilian food group Sadia, which ended its partnership with the CBF on 29/01/2016. Unimed Seguros (health supplements), Gillette (shaving) and Michelin (tyres) have also ended their partnerships with the Brazilian Federation following the corruption scandals that have shaken the body (the current president Marco Polo Del Nero and former presidents José Maria Marin and Ricardo Teixeira are among the 16 South American leaders indicted by the United States Department of Justice for racketeering, financial fraud and money laundering, for more than $200m according to Brazilian media).

Chevrolet succeeded Volkswagen as the official automobile partner of the CBF on 15/08/2014. The agreement, which runs until 2019, will see the Chevrolet logo on the training shorts, tracksuits and the…
