Spain: LaLiga becomes the first European championship with over one million subscribers on YouTube

"LaLiga", the official YouTube channel of the Liga BBVA, became the first European championship to exceed one million subscribers on the social network, on 07/03/2016. This account, which publishes videos of match highlights and press conferences, has accumulated nearly 256 million video views and posted approximately 20,000 videos since its creation on 13/07/2006.

To mark the occasion, Maria Ferreras, director of partnership services of Google (the owner of YouTube) in Spain, presented a "golden button" to Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, and Jaume Roures, president of Mediapro, the Spanish broadcaster which provides content for the channel (see below).
