Bundesliga: +7% revenue increase in 2011/12 and the best operating income in Europe

In the Annual Review of Football Finance published by Deloitte on the 06/06/2013, it was found that the Bundesliga has accumulated €1.9bn in revenue during the 2011/12 season, up 7% compared to 2010/11 (€1.78bn).

The Bundesliga is the second European league that generated the most revenue in 2011/12, behind the Premier League:
1 - Premier League (ENG). €2.9bn
2 - Bundesliga (GER). €1.9bn (66 % of sales in the Premier League)
3 - La Liga (SPA) €21.8bn (62 %)
4 - Serie A (ITA) €1.6bn (55 %)
5 - Ligue 1 (FRA) €1.1bn (38 %)

However, the Bundesliga is the most profitable league in Europe, with a positive operating income (before financial charges) of €190m, representing an operating margin of 10%.

The Premier League recorded an operating income of €121m, representing an operating margin of 4%. The other three "big" European championships recorded losses (€67m for Ligue 1 in 2011/12).

Revenue growth in the Bundesliga (+7%) was higher than that of the Premier League (+4%), La Liga (+3%) and Serie A (+1%) but is less than the growth in Ligue 1 (+9%).
