FC Barcelona: extension of the agreement with Òmnium Cultural to promote the Catalan identity

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) extended its collaboration agreement with Òmnium Cultural, an association dedicated to the promotion of the Catalan language and culture and to "spread the desire for freedom" of Catalonia, announced the club on 10/03/2016.

"FC Barcelona, as an entity fully involved in the present and the future of Catalonia, is committed to support the initiatives of civil society and institutions to promote Catalan sports, the international recognition of Catalan sports teams, and promote these initiatives through all means available," stated the Catalan club.

As part of the agreement with Òmnium Cultural, FC Barcelona will provide visitors to its museum educational materials on Catalan language and culture. These documents will also be provided to the players of the various sections of the club, which will also offer customised courses to facilitate the learning of Catalan.

• Each season, FC Barcelona will highlight the "Honorary Award of Catalan Letters" at a match of the club played at the Camp Nou.
