EPFL: Frédéric Thiriez leaves chairmanship to concentrate on the World League Association

"As previously announced, Frédéric Thiriez (FRA), who has chaired the World League Association since 25/02/2016, has decided to leave the European Professional Football Leagues (EPFL) to devote himself fully to his new position (for the global leagues)," stated the French LFP (headed by Frédéric Thiriez since 2002), on 11/03/2016.

"A founding member of the EPFL in 2005, vice-president since 2007 and chairman since 2013 (25/10/2013), Frédéric Thiriez has therefore requested the office of the EPFL to replace him as president. This preceded the proposal of the appointment of Lars-Christer Olsson (SWE), president of the Swedish Football League and former general secretary of UEFA, at the general meeting, held (on 11/03/2016) in Geneva (SUI), which was ratified unanimously via election," added the LFP in a statement.

"I will not be representing the (French) league at the end of the year. This will make 14 years. That's a lot. 14 years is enough. That is enough for the league, and no doubt, and also for me," announced Frederic Thiriez, president of the LFP, and also the international EPFL…
