Ligue 1: PSG crowned French champions for the sixth time, with a record eight games remaining

Paris Saint-Germain FC were crowned the 2015-16 Ligue 1 champions after their victory over ESTAC Troyes (0-9, Ligue 1 Matchday 30), on 13/03/2016. By winning their fourth consecutive title with eight games remaining in the season, PSG have broken the record set by Olympique Lyonnais, who were crowned champions in 2006-07 with five matches remaining in the season.

Paris SG currently have 77 points after 30 matchdays (W24, D5, L1; goals for: 77; goals against: 15), 25 more than AS Monaco (52 points). This is PSG's sixth French title -- 30 years after the first -- after victories in 1985-86, 1993-94, 2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15, and the fourth since the takeover of the club by Qatar Sports Investments in 2011.

Paris Saint-Germain join FC Girondins de Bordeaux and Stade de Reims who also have six French titles. Five clubs have won the titles: AS Saint-Etienne (10 titles), Olympique de Marseille (9), FC Nantes (8), Olympique Lyonnais and AS Monaco (7).
