DFB-Pokal: the public group ARD extends its TV rights agreement until 2019

The German public broadcaster ARD has extended its broadcasting rights deal for the DFB-Pokal until 2018-19, announced the DFB on 11/03/2016. The public channel will broadcast nine German cup matches, including the final in Berlin, and will also broadcast match highlights. ARD will also broadcast the final of the Frauen DFB-Pokal Cup, the women's version of the competition, in Germany.

ARD currently broadcasts eight live matches and highlights of all the German Cup matches each season, while the pay-TV group Sky Deutschland broadcasts 63 live matches of the competition.

• The pay-TV Sky Deutschland group is expected to retain the domestic distribution rights of the DFB-Pokal German National Cup for the 2016-2019 cycle, according to the German daily Bild, on 28/11/2015.
