Championship: Sports Shield consortium finalises the acquisition of Bolton Wanderers for £7.5m

"Bolton Wanderers Football Club is delighted to announce that a deal between Sports Shield, Inner Circle and Eddie Davies to transfer ownership of the club has officially been completed," stated Bolton Wanderers FC on their official club website, on 10/03/2016.

Sports Shield, headed by the former Bolton Wanderers player Dean Holdsworth, and Inner Circle, an investment and networking group owned by Ken Anderson, finalised the £7.5m (€9.54m as of 16/03/2016) acquisition of the club from owner Eddie Davies, on 10/03/2016. The new owners now control a 94.5% majority stake in the club, with the remaining 5.5% of shares owned by individual investors.

Dean Holdsworth and Ken Anderson will join the Bolton Wanderers FC board of directors as part of the takeover, while Eddie Davies will become the honorary president of the club.
