"We have unanimously adopted the governance reform (of the LFP). It will be put forward at the Extraordinary General Meeting of the League, on 15/04/2016. Then, it will of course be approved by the Federal Assembly of the FFF (28/05/2016 in Tours, FRA), then be subject to a ministerial ruling, according to the current legislation," said Frederic Thiriez, president of the LFP, on 15/03/2016.

"After two years of work and long debates, the governance reform of the LFP was adopted. In the presence of the president of the FFF, Noël Le Graët, this major reform for the future of French professional football was unanimously voted in by the presidents of Ligue 1 and Ligue 2, the president of the Premiere League (union of Ligue 1 clubs), Bernard Caiazzo, and the UCPF (union of professional clubs), Guy Cotret, the representative of the FFF, Michel Denisot, representatives of the different groups (players, coaches, referees, doctors and administrative staff), and the independent members," said the LFP on 15/03/2016.
