Brazil: pharmaceutical group CIMED becomes an official partner of the Federation until 2020

CIMED, the Brazilian pharmaceutical group, has become an official partner of the CBF for four years, until the end of the 2019-20 season, announced the Brazilian Football Federation on 03/03/2016. The amount of the agreement is estimated by the Brazilian media to be between 20m and 30m reais, between €4.7m and €7.2m as of 16/03/2016 (€1.2 to €1.8m per year).

CIMED are entitled to different activation options via the partnership, which will be presented on 25/03/2015, the day of the match between Brazil - Uruguay in the 5th round of qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in the CONMEBOL zone. The pharmaceutical company will notably be present alongside the national team during the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, the 2016 Copa America Centenario and the 2018 World Cup.

The CBF renewed and extended its partnership with the American automaker Chevrolet, on 29/02/2016. Sadia (food), Unimed Seguros (health supplements), Gillette (shaving) and Michelin (tyres) all terminated their partnerships with the Brazilian Federation, following the corruption scandals that have shaken the body.
