The British bank Barclays has become the official finance and banking partner of the Premier League for the 2016-2019 cycle, on 17/03/2016.

Barclays has been the title sponsor of the Premier League since 2001-02 (Barclaycard Premier League for the 2001-2004 period) until the end of the 2015-16 season. The contract with Barclays is estimated at £40m (€51.1m as of 17/03/2016) per season since its extension in 2012.

Premier League clubs decided on 05/06/2015, to abandon title sponsorship of the English first division from the 2016-17 season. The Premier League announced a sponsorship programme with seven official partners for the 2016-2019 cycle, during the presentation of its new visual identity on 09/02/2016.
