Crowdfunding: Hertha Berlin raise €1m from its supporters in less than 10 minutes

Hertha BSC (Bundesliga), received €1m from fans in a crowdfunding scheme over the course of 9 minutes and 23 seconds, reported the club on 20/03/2016. The operation, launched on Saturday 19/03/2016, in conjunction with the match between Hertha BSC - FC Ingolstadt 04 (2-1, Bundesliga Matchday 27), was organised via the funding platform Kapilendo.de.

Fans could register on the website and buy bonds between a minimum of €100 and a maximum of €10,000. Investors will receive annual interest of 4.5%.

The bond issue aimed to develop the digital activities of the club, including the creation of new mobile phone applications.
