"Licensing allows a brand to be present on multiple networks at the same time, apart from the sale of products in store, and certainly to perfect its marketing strategy and to become better known as a brand. Licensing is a powerful tool for development," said Christophe Rousseau, founder of the French agency Troisième Ligne, which specialises in brand management, licensing and sports merchandising, to News Tank Football after Sportem 2016, a trade fair for sports licensing marketing, whose second edition was organised at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy Lille (FRA) on 21 and 22/03/2016.

More than 400 European sports marketing decision-makers arrived to the conference for panel discussions, followed the next day by meeting with the exhibitors: clubs, rights holders, agencies, brands and manufacturers. Participants had the opportunity to specifically address the operational, financial and trade issues in the licensing and sports merchandising market.
