Facebook: ranking of the European Top 5 leagues (April 2016)

The Premier League is the most popular European Championship on Facebook, with more than 224.5 million cumulative fans across its 20 clubs in 2015-16 (11 million fans on average per club), according to data compiled by News Tank Football on 05/04/2016. Leicester City FC, the current leader of the English league with 69 points after 32 matchdays (7 points ahead of second-placed Tottenham Hotspur FC) recorded the largest increase (33.6%), passing from 2 to 2.7 million fans in March 2016.

The Liga BBVA ranks second in cumulative fans with 202.7 million, of which include 91.7 million (45.3%) for FC Barcelona and 87.9 million (43.5%) for Real Madrid CF. The Serie A is third with 68.8 million cumulative Facebook fans. The 18 Bundesliga clubs have accumulated 61.8 million fans, while the clubs of Ligue 1 count 39.8 million cumulative fans.
