Premier League: Acacia Mining becomes a premium partner of Sunderland AFC

The British mining group Acacia Mining plc has become an official partner of Sunderland AFC (Premier League), on 31/03/2016. Neither the amount nor the duration of the partnership were disclosed. Acacia Mining operates mines in Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, Mali, Burkina Faso).

Under the partnership, Sunderland AFC will participate in Acacia Mining CSR programs, delivering training sessions at local clubs in the districts of Kahama and Tarime (northwestern Tanzania), eight to ten weeks per year. Sunderland have several partners in Africa: South African Airways (airline, South Africa), Symbion Power (engineering, Tanzania) and the Tanzania Tourist Board (tourism).
