"I am dismayed and will not accept that my integrity is being doubted by certain areas of the media, especially given that UEFA has already disclosed in detail all facts regarding these contracts," stated Gianni Infantino, FIFA president, on 05/04/2016, regarding his name appearing in the Panama Papers, the name of the scandal of Panamanian shell companies revealed by international media on 03/04/2016.

"Gianni Infantino (then director of the Legal Affairs division of UEFA) signed, in September 2006 and March 2007, commercial contracts on behalf of UEFA, with an offshore company (Cross Trading) owned by businessmen (Argentines Mariano and Hugo Jinkis) currently under investigation by US justice in connection with the investigation into the FIFA scandal," reported the German daily Süddeutsche Zeitung.
