Champions League: Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City shoulder-to-shoulder economically

With £351.8m (€489m on 31/05/2015) in turnover, excluding player trading, during the 2015 financial year (from 01/06/2014 to 31/05/2015), Manchester City FC (Premier League) maintains a slight lead of €5.1m, or 1.04% ahead of Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1), which generated €483.9m in turnover, excluding player trading, in 2014-15. The two clubs clash at the Parc des Princes in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the 2015-16 Champions League, on Wednesday 06/04/2016 (kick-off at 19:45 GMT; 20:45 CET).

The difference, in economic terms, between the two clubs has been reduced in recent years: in 2011-12, the turnover of Paris Saint-Germain €66.5m (23%) lower than that of Manchester City (€222.4m for PSG compared to €288.9m for Man City).

Despite this narrowing of the gap in income, the estimated valuation of Manchester City remains much greater than that of the Parisian club. According to the report from Forbes magazine on 06/05/2015, Man City were valued at €1.21bn (5^th-highest European club, in terms of estimated value), compared to €557m for PSG (12^th).
