Liga BBVA: Atlético Madrid have 85,071 socios, a new club record (+9% in one year)

Club Atlético de Madrid (Liga BBVA) have exceeded the 85,000 socios mark, which is a new record for the club since its inception in 1903, the Madrid club announced on 07/04/2016.

The number of socios of Atlético Madrid (85,071 on 07/04/2016) is up 9% from the previous record, dating back to the end of the 2014-15 season (78,097). The club surpassed the 80,000 socios in November 2015.

Among the Atlético socios, about 47,200 are season ticket holders to the club's matches at the Vicente Calderon (54,900 seats). The others are "non-subscribers socios", which benefit from various advantages (free tickets, discounts, priority for some matches) in exchange for their support. A "socio non-subscriber" membership is sold for €50 per season.
