Premier League: €169m cumulative profit before tax for the clubs in 2014-15, -37% from 2013-14

The 20 Premier League clubs accumulated a profit before tax of £120m in 2014-15 (€169m as of 30/06/2015), revealed a study by the Sports Business Group of the British audit firm Deloitte, announced on 15/04/2016.

This figure is down 37% in profit before tax of the Premier League clubs from 2013-14 (£190m or €237.5m as of 30/06/2014), which was a record in the history of the English top flight. The 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons are the first two in twenty-first century where Premier League clubs have been, cumulatively, profitable after 15 consecutive seasons of aggregate losses. 17 of the 20 Premier League clubs cleared a profit in 2014-15; Queens Parks Rangers FC (relegated in 2014-15), Aston Villa FC (already assured of relegation in 2015-16) and Chelsea FC are the only three clubs to post losses.

The cumulative revenues from Premier League clubs totaled £3.4bn (€4.14bn) in 2014-15, up 3% from 2013-14 (£3.3bn, €4.13 billion at the time). The 2014-15 season was the second of the 2013-2016 cycle of audiovisual rights of the Premier League, which will expire at the end of the 2015-16…
