DFB: former treasurer Reinhard Grindel becomes the 12^th president of the German Federation

Reinhard Grindel has been elected president of the DFB at the extraordinary general assembly held in Frankfurt (GER), on 15/04/2016. The law school graduate and former journalist, who is 54 years old, has been treasurer of the German Federation since 2013, and becomes the 12^th president of the DFB, succeeding Wolfgang Niersbach, who resigned on 09/11/2015.

"It is a great honor for me to take this responsibility. The DFB is in front of key challenges that I would like take on together with my colleagues on the board, and with the Federation staff," said Reinhard Grindel on 15/04/2016.

"I am delighted in the trust placed in me by both the amateur and professional branches of German football. My role is to harmonise the interests of both. As president, I will set a goal to strengthen the unity of football," added the new president of the German Federation.
