Euro 2016: the British company Hawk-Eye to be official supplier of goal-line technology

Hawk-Eye will be the official supplier of goal-line technology for Euro 2016, announced UEFA on 19/04/2016. As well as two additional referees near each goal, the British company will set up their technology in the ten competition stadiums for the 51 matches.

"Goal-line technology and additional assistant referees complement each other perfectly. The main task of the AAR's is not to control the goal line and decide whether a ball has crossed it; rather they are responsible for monitoring everything that is happening in the penalty area overall, aiding the main referee in making important decisions in the box," said Pierluigi Collina, chief refereeing officer at UEFA.

Hawk-Eye to feature in European Super Cup, 09/08/2016, as well as in Champions League qualifying play-offs
