England: Ian Lenagan to succeed Greg Clarke as the head of the Football League

Ian Lenagan, 69 years old, will succeed Greg Clarke as the head of the Football League, according to British media on 16/04/2016. The official appointment of the former president of League Two club Oxford City and chairman of Wigan Warriors (rugby league) is on hold until ratification at the General Assembly of the Football League, on 10/06/2016.

"It is a great honour to be invited to be chairman of the Football League and guide our 72 clubs into the next stage of our development under the new brand EFL (English Football League). I look forward to continuing the work by the board for the good of all our member clubs," said Ian Lenagan, who was born in June 1946.

The Football League will officially become the "English Football League" starting from 2016-17 season.
