Bundesliga: league uses online video series to learn technical terms of football in German

"Football German: learn German football parlance with the help of the Bundesliga stars!" is the title of the video programme set up by the Bundesliga on its website to allow foreigners to learn football termsl in German. These are one minute one-minute videos in which players from Bundesliga pronounce a technical term in German, which is then explained and illustrated with video highlights.

This initiative aims to popularise technical terms which are sometimes difficult to pronounce for non-German speakers, but also to create international and entertainment content to power the official accounts of the Bundesliga on social networks (over 5.6 million cumulative fans).

With a video published every three days, the initiative, launched on 14/03/2016, has totalled nearly 159,000 cumulative views, with the participation of international stars such as Robert Lewandowski (Poland, FC Bayern Munich), Pierre Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon, Borussia Dortmund), Shinji Kagawa (Japan, Borussia Dortmund), Salomon Kalou (Ivory Coast, Hertha BSC), Hakan Çalhanoğlu (Turkey, Bayern 04 Leverkusen), and the…
