Brazil: TV rights agreement between Ponte Preta and Esporte Interativo from 2019

The Brazilian club Associação Atlética Ponte Preta has concluded an agreement with Esporte Interativo, the Brazilian pay-TV channel of the Turner Group (Time Warner), for the redistribution of the club's TV rights to other pay-TV channels for Ponte Preta matches in the Brazilian first division -- the Brasileiro, or Brazilian Serie A -- from 2019 onwards, confirmed the club on 17/04/2016. The amount the agreement was not disclosed.

The broadcaster has already signed similar agreements with Clube Atletico Paranaense, Internacional, Santos FC, Santa Cruz, Figueirense and Coritiba for the 2019-2024 period. This is another step towards the acquisition of pay-TV rights for the Brazilian championship for the 2019-2024 period, which is currently held by TV Globo, for which Esporte Interativo have offered around 550 million reals (€133m), according to Brazilian media on 25/03/2016.
