Turkey: Digiturk acquires rights to broadcast Euro 2016 via sublicense from TRT

Digiturk, a Turkish pay-TV group, has acquired the audiovisual rights for Euro 2016 via sublicense from the public broadcaster TRT (Turkish Radio and Television Corporation), reported local media on 15/04/2016. Digiturk will broadcast all 51 matches of Euro 2016 on its channel Lig TV.

TRT acquired all the rights in January 2016, three months after the Turkish national team qualified for Euro 2016 following their victory over Iceland (1-0), which assured their place as the best third place qualifier (Group A), on 13/10/2015. TRT and Digiturk will broadcast Euro 2016 in HD.

Turkey are in Group D of Euro 2016 with Croatia, the Czech Republic and Spain.
