The London club has offered its fans a round trip, via steam engine train, for the last game of the 2015-16 Premier League season. This initiative by Crystal Palace FC (Premier League) will take place on the matchday versus Southampton FC (38th and final match day of the season) on 15/05/2016.

The venture is organised by Jeremy Hosking, co-owner of the club and a steam engine collector. It will involve a train being pulled by the recently restored locomotive "Lord Dowding", used from 1946 to 1967. The trip from the city of London, where Crystal Palace is based, to Southampton will be around 130 kilometres.

People who take part in the journey, which will cost £242 (€307) for adults, will enjoy drinks on the way, a seat for the game and dinner on the return journey. After the game Crystal Palace players and staff will take the locomotive back to London with the fans.

  • Crystal Palace FC are currently in 16th place (39 points) in the 2015-16 Premier League table after 34 matchdays, nine points ahead of Sunderland AFC (30 points) who are in 18th place and the first relegation zone slot.
