FC Barcelona: presentation of plans for the new Camp Nou (105,000 seats), to be delivered in 2022

FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA) unveiled the plans for the renovation of the Camp Nou (99,500 seats), during a ceremony in a stadium grandstand in the presence of Josep Maria Bartomeu, the Barça president, and the entire workforce of the Catalan club, on 21/04/2016.

The proposed renovation of the Camp Nou, which will increase the capacity to 105,000 places, was created by the Japanese architecture agency of Nikken Sekkei and the Catalan architecture firm Pascual y Ausio Arquitectes, the winners of the Nou Camp Nou architectural competition on 08/03/2016.

The FC Barcelona socios voted 72.36% in favour of the Espai Barça project, on 05/04/2014. This project includes the renovation of the Camp Nou and the construction of the Palau Blaugrana (a 10,000 seat arena). Of the €600m project, €420m will be spent on the renovation of the Camp Nou, €90m for the construction of the Palau Blaugrana and €90m on car parks (5,000 places), the new Mini Estadi (the youth team centre) and Espai Barça (shopping area).
