Finland: Pertti Alaja, president of the Federation since 2012, re-elected for four years until 2020

Pertti Alaja, 64 years old, president of the Football Association of Finland (Suomen Palloliitto - Finlands Bollförbund or SPL-FBF) since 2012, was unanimously re-elected for a term of four years (2016-2020) at the 88th Congress of the body in Tampere (FIN), on 24/04/2016.

"A well-known figure in both domestic and international football, Pertti Alaja was also rated highly in his playing career in the 1970s and 1980s. He won 29 full caps for Finland and was a much-respected goalkeeper who, besides his native country, also played in Sweden, Denmark and Canada during his career," stated UEFA on 25/04/2016. "Although renowned for most for his achievements in football, Alaja is also known as a poet, and his first collection of poems was published in 2007," added UEFA.
