Bundesliga: Nike kit supplier of VfL Wolfsburg for nine years (2016-2025) and €8m per year (press)

The American brand Nike could become the kit supplier of VfL Wolfsburg (Bundesliga) from the 2016-17 season, and could present the new kit of the club in early July 2016, according to the local daily Wolfsburger Allgemeine on 23/04/2016. The contract between Nike and VfL Wolfsburg has a term of nine seasons (2016-2025) and an annual amount of slightly less than €8m, according to the German newspaper.

The VfL Wolfsburg had already been equipped by Nike during the 2004-2010 period. The "Wolves" then partnered with adidas (2010-2014), then with Kappa since 2014-15. The Italian brand, which had a contract until the end of the 2018-19 season (annual amount estimated at €3m), announced, on 02/10/2015, the end of its partnership with the club at the end of the 2015-16. A clause in the contract allowed the club to prematurely terminate the collaboration.
