France: SFR launches 5 new sports channels SFR Sport 1, 2, 3, 4k and 5, and a news channel BFM Sport

The French telecommunications group SFR will launch a sports pack consisting of five sports channels (SFR Sport 1, 2, 3, 4k and 5), the company announced in Paris (FRA) on 27/04/2016. These channels will be incorporated into a new branch, SFR Media, announced Michel Combes, CEO of SFR and director of operations of the Altice group, and Alain Weill, CEO of NextRadioTV and CEO of the activities of the Altice group.

• SFR Sport 1 will broadcast English Premier League games in France, which Altice acquired the rights for the 2016-2019 period, on 26/11/2015.
• SFR Sport 2 will broadcast the competitions currently broadcast by the channels Ma Chaîne Sport and MCS Tennis (Pro A French division 1 basketball, women's tennis, volleyball, and more) and those acquired starting from from 2016-17 such as the Aviva Premiership, the English rugby league.
• SFR Sport 3 will be dedicated to extreme sports (formerly the MCS Extrême channel).
• SFR Sport 4K offer the best programmes of the other channels in 4K technology.
