Scotland: Dafabet (betting) becomes Celtic FC shirt sponsor for the 2016-2020 period, €7.6m per year

Dafabet, the online betting and gaming provider, has expanded its partnership with Celtic FC (2015-16 Ladbrokes Premiership champions) becoming the club's shirt sponsor for the 2016-2020 period, on 02/05/2016. This is the "biggest shirt sponsorship deal in the history of Scottish football," said the Glaswegian club. The amount of the partnership is more than £6m per year (€7.6m as of 03/05/2016) according to local media.

Dafabet has been the international betting partner of Celtic since 2015-16 (until the end of the 2019-20 season). The Scottish newspaper, The Scotsman, announced the signing of the shirt partnership between the two parties from the 2016-17 season, on 13/02/2016. The sports betting operator succeeds the cider brand Magners, which has been present on the front of the Scottish club's shirt since the start of the 2013-14 season (contract estimated at £1.5m / €1.9m per season, excluding bonuses).

Nevertheless Magners will remain present on the back of the Celtic shirt (above the number of each player) for the 2016-2020 period following an agreement with the Scottish club…
