Adidas set target of €2bn turnover in 2014

Adidas forecast record sales of €2bn in the football market in 2014, the German sportswear company announced on the 18/06/2013.

"Through the World Cup we will once again underline our leading position and share our passion for the game with fans around the world," said Herbert Hainer, CEO of the Adidas Group on the 18/06/2013.

As the official sponsor of the competition, Adidas will supply the official ball of the tournament and equip officials, referees and volunteers.

"In 2012, UEFA European Championships helped us to achieve sales of €1.7bn in football alone," said Hainer. This represents a 30% increase compared to 2008 (€1.3bn)

In the top 20 FIFA rankings of national teams, Adidas is the best represented supplier with 8 contracts (Nike: 5, Puma 4, Marathon: 1, Burrda: 1, Legea: 1).
