UEFA: an Extraordinary Executive Committee will review the case of Michel Platini on 18/05/2016

"Michel Platini has presented his case to the CAS, I want him back among us, but whatever the decision of the CAS, there will, an Extraordinary Executive Committee which will review this decision before the final of the Europa League in Basel (SUI, on Wednesday 18/05/2016)," said Angel Maria Villar Llona (ESP), first vice-president of UEFA, ahead of the Ordinary UEFA Congress in Budapest (HUN), on 03/05/2016.

"We communicate the next steps we are going to take," said the president of the Spanish Federation and FIFA vice-president.

Suspended from any position in football since 10/08/2015 Michel Platini, president of UEFA since 2007, is awaiting a decision from the CAS to be made "no later than 09/05/2016", after his hearing on 29/04/2016 in Lausanne (SUI).
• Michel Platini asked the CAS to rescind the six-year suspension imposed on him by the FIFA Appeal Committee, on 24/02/2016.
• The Appeal Committee had reduced his eight years suspension imposed by the FIFA Ethics Committee, on 21/12/2015, by two years.
• The ban was due to a controversial payment of 2 million Swiss francs…
