Spain: Real Madrid TV channel available on Spanish DTT since 28/04/2016

Real Madrid TV, the official television channel of Real Madrid CF (Liga BBVA), has been broadcast on Spanish national DTT from 28/04/2016, the day after the 2015-16 Champions League semi-final first leg between Manchester City FC - Real Madrid CF (0-0). Real Madrid had six months to launch their channel since the DTT slot was allocated to them in October 2015.

The movement of the franchise onto DTT was one of the objectives of president Florentino Perez. The first news and debate programme - "La Tertulia" - featured six Real Madrid players, Zinedine Zidane, the manager of the club's first team, and Pablo Laso, a player for the Real Madrid basketball team, on 28/04/2016.

Real Madrid signed an agreement with Mediapro to manage and produce the channel. The audiovisual group, along with with Atreseries and Be Mad TV, provide 31 Spanish DTT channels. The time slot for Real Madrid TV will not be changed before the new television schedule is released in September 2016.

With this change in format, Real Madrid have became the first club in the Liga BBVA to have a channel on Spanish DTT…
