Bundesliga: Gazprom (energy) extends deal as FC Schalke 04 shirt sponsor until 2021-22

Gazprom, the Russian energy supplier, has extended its deal as the main shirt sponsor of FC Schalke 04 (Bundesliga) for five seasons, on 07/05/2016. The current contract, which ends at the end of the 2016-17 season, has been extended until 30/06/2022. Gazprom has been the main shirt sponsor of the German club since the 2007-08 season.

During the 2012-2017 period, the sponsorship deal between Gazprom and FC Schalke 04 has been worth between €15m and €20m per year depending on the sporting performance of the club (a total of between €75m and €100m for the 2012-2017 period). For the 2017-2022 period, the annual amount will be between €24m and €30m (between €120m and €150m in total), according to German media.
