LA Galaxy 2013 third kit designed by a supporter

Los Angeles Galaxy (MLS, Major League Soccer) have unveiled their third kit for the 2013 season, following a design competition won by a supporter, on the 15/06/2013.

A jury composed of LA Galaxy players selected five finalists from the 8,000 submissions. The final 5 designs were then voted on by fans of LA Galaxy's Facebook page. The shirt, designed by Carlos Rodriguez, won the competition. The third kit will be worn by LA Galaxy for the first time against Real Salt Lake on the 17/08/2013.

“It’s important to involve our fans in anything that we do, so to do this in an innovative way where we, literally, put the design of our third kit in their hands was something that we’re really excited about,” said Chris Klein, club president, on the 15/06/2013. “Then to do it completely online was something that we were proud of and we’re very excited with the outcome. It is a kit that ties the Galaxy past to now and to the city of Los Angeles as well with the colours of the city flag,” he added.
